Title: CookieBot! A Harry and Horse Adventure
Author: Katie Van Camp
Illustrator: Lincoln Agnew
Publication date: May 31st, 2011
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Suitable for ages: 3 +
Themes: Creative Play, Imagination, Robots
Excerpt from the book (not the first page)
...But CookieBot had other ideas,
He picked up the jar and emptied
it into his mouth.
"Uh-oh," Harry cried. "He's out
of control!"
"Horsie help!"
But before Horsie could stop him, CookieBot charged
down Fifth Avenue in search of more cookies.
Why I like this book
I enjoyed how the story is based on a child's imagination during play and without limitations. I also loved the illustrations which resemble the feel of an old comic strip.
The synopsis - taken from the inside flap (front cover)
The Problem: Harry and Horsie want cookies, but the jar is way out of reach.
The Solution: Build CookieBot—the most amazing cookie-grabbing robot ever!
What could go wrong?

We loved the original "Harry and Horsie" book, so I'll definitely put this one on our list. We posted a "bot" book too this week.
ReplyDeleteMy son loves the robot pb's. Thanks for your visit Kirsten
DeleteSomeone (Amy?) posted the original Harry and Horsie book and it looked great as does this one! I didn't realize there was a series :) This looks like it would also fit well in the books for boys category. And since this is the second robot book this week, I guess I better make a robot category :) Thanks so much for sharing - this looks fun!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize it was a series until I did the review. I'll have to go check all them out now! :)
