The Lucky 7 Meme!
I was tagged by the awesome David Powers King with the Lucky 7 MEME!! Thank you David. Feel free to check out David’s blog. He writes science fiction and fantasy and his blog posts are always very funny. Believe me you won’t be bored over there.
These are the rules to the Lucky 7 MEME:
1. Go to page 77 of your current ms. (Since I write children’s stories I’ll just skip to #2)
2. Go to line 7.
3. Copy down the next 7 lines/sentences, and post them as they're written. No cheating.
4. Tag 7 other victims, er, authors.
My WiP is called The Time Museum. Here is line 7 …
Heidi tried to mimic her friends’ hairstyles;
In braids like Bridget’s,
In bun like Bonnie’s,
Or in a twist like Tori’s.
Not one came out right.
“Maybe I should wear my hair like this?” Heidi said.
“Arf, arf,” barked Piper.
“You say it’s wild and needs a good taming?” she asked.
Heidi picked up the picture of Grams on her desk. Her grandmother’s hair was styled in a Beehive.
“Maybe I should wear it like you?” Heidi said smiling at the photo.

Hey Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteThanks for tagging me as one of the victims, er, authors... no more Irish Yoga for you!
(But I *do* appreciate you thinking of me for the meme :)~
No, I do, I do :)
You're welcome Mark! I'm still laughing over that Irish Yoga! :)
DeleteHow sweet is this! I'm so glad I follow you. Because I love all the YA writers I follow, but a girl needs a little variety. Your blog is just so fun :)
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you Kelley. I'm glad I follow you too. I love your blog and posts :)
DeleteWahoo! Thanks for the tag! And I love your lines. You write the best stories. So fun! I love it!
ReplyDeleteNow, that is the best compliment ever!! Thanks Leigh, you made my day :)
DeleteWow! Jennifer you've done it again! You are so kind! I love your blog. Thanks friend!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Cheryl!! Thanks for your kind words. Can't wait to read yours :)
DeleteJennifer, I'm honored to be tagged. My only MS is also a children's story, but I think I can jump to page 7 and go from there. Having always struggled with my hair (mom wasn't much help in this department) I can totally appreciate the dilemma in your story. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou have a page 7!?! That's wonderful. I had to jump to line 7 instead. lol. It all worked out though.
DeleteI'm glad you related to mine. I know it needs much more work, but it was still fun sharing. I'm looking forward to reading yours :)
Cute! All the talk of haircuts is adorable. : )
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! :)
DeleteThanks. Do I get to read the rest of your WIP? I don't know if I should share my novel or my picture book.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Rena. I would just share whichever one you feel more comfortable sharing. I have to cut down on the word count quite a bit but I will be sending it to the group soon.
DeleteI'm going to share my novel but it will have to wait until the end of the month. I'm busy right now getting the poetry challenge together.
DeleteOh great! I'm happy to try this poetry challenge out. Even if I am not any good I'm sure I'll have a fun experience.
DeleteCute story. The haircuts sound adorable and I love how she looked at her grandmother's photo at the end. Thanks for tagging me for the lucky seven meme. I like the idea and I will get mine out very quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Melissa. I was sure if I should keep the Grandmother. I think I will now. Can't wait to check out your lucky 7 :)
DeleteOh I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Peggy :)
