Rena Traxel is hosting a poetry challenge in April and a contest in May on her blog in celebration of National Poetry Month. Write a poem a day that corresponds to the letter of the alphabet. This challenge is open to everyone.
The Challenge During April
Starting with the letter 'A' on April 1, 2012 write a poem based on that day's lesson and challenge. There are 26 letters in the alphabet so you will create 26 poems in the month of April. Take Sundays off to revise (except for Sunday, April 1). If you have kids get them involved.

Good for you, Jennifer! I think Rena's idea is super and I shall be following along, but don't think I will join in as I will be unavailable during a week in April!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanna. That's too bad you aren't joining. Although, I hope you enjoy our week away :0)
DeleteOh! Excited to see what you have in store for us!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit nervous about doing this challenge. This will be my first real attempt at poetry. Thanks for your support Csasie :)
DeleteOooh! I'm nervous just reading about this. I wonder if I could enter. Hmmm. I need to go through my work and see what I can do. Glad you shared. :) I hope you enter. You're amazing girl. So talented.
ReplyDeleteI know, me too! I'm very shy about sharing my poetry. I haven't written it since way back in college. Haha.
DeleteGood luck to us Leigh! I'm so glad you are participating in it too :)
p.s. Thanks for those super sweet words!!
Sounds like fun. Wish I wrote poetry -- good at editing. I don't know how all of you participate in writing and poetry contests at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could too! haha. That's kind of why I'm doing this challenge - to learn a thing or two or run away saying "This is not for me"
DeleteI can't wait to read what you come up with! How fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kelley. I think it will be a fun experience :)
DeleteThanks Jen for blogging about this. It's going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Happy you are hosting it. Hopefully I can keep up with all you poets! :)
DeleteWhat a fun idea! I wish I wrote poetry, but I'm terrible at it.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I hope I get better at it by doing this challenge. :)
DeleteThis is a fun challenge. I'm doing the A-Z blogging challenge. Good luck with the challenge. I'll stop by for a dose of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh, good luck with your A-Z blogging challenge. I'll be stopping by to check yours out to. Thanks for the support Stacy.
