I Really Love You, Ava was just released as an eBook. Below is a little about the story as well as an excerpt.

What is real love? Little Ava Jacobs is dying to find the answer to this seemingly simple question. Through a mother's patience, grandparents' joy, and a couple's kindness, Ava finds the meaning of real love.

Excerpt:

Daddy put his fork in the sink, refusing to eat the last bite.

Why would Daddy not eat the last bite of his favorite dessert? A smile grew on Ava’s face.

“Daddy has real love for Mama,” she whispered, but not quietly enough.

Now it's time for the Q & A

Krissy, where does your inspiration come from?

With their sparkly bracelets and frilly scarves, the girls in my class inspired me to write my first published book, Katie Ling Fashion Queen. After teaching several years, I decided to stay home with my son. The unconditional love I and my family have for my son inspired my second picture book, I Really Love You, Ava. The Bouquet That Lost its Way will be my third picture book. The ideas behind this picture book came from spending time with a florist for many years, my mom. The book blossomed from her passion for flowers coupled with my experiences with students who were dealing with various emotional issues. I am anxious to share both of these new books during school visits and book signings.

Would you like to share some advice for writers?

The biggest mistake that I made earlier on was sending out my stories to early. They just weren’t ready and needed other eyes, like from a critique group, to help better the stories. Do your research. Read, read, read the genre that you want to write. This will help you understand what’s selling and where your writing may need tweaking. Research how other authors are marketing their published works, also. You will be better prepared when you do get that “YES.”

Can we hear about a memorable moment of yours?

Last year, I visited a school that I taught at only two years before. I was able to see my former students. That was so special. We were both beside ourselves. Me, because I hadn’t seen them in so long, and I was sharing my inspiration for stories which was actually them as well as my son. I was pregnant with my son the last year I worked there. So, it was neat to have pictures of him to share. Them, because they seemed truly inspired that their teacher was now a published author. So very sweet.

Krissy, thank you for sharing your picture book and story with us. Also, congratulations!
